This page explains how a user provides consent to receive SMS (text message) notifications from ThePaintballNetwork.com.

How users opt in

On their profile or notifications page, a user can choose to receive certain alerts (e.g. chat mentions, event reminders, payment notices) by SMS. Before any SMS is delivered to them, the user must:

1. Enter a US phone number on their profile.
2. Tick a checkbox that reads: "I agree to the SMS terms and conditions, including any associated fees and opting into text notifications from ThePaintballNetwork.com."
3. Receive a 6-digit verification code via SMS and enter it back into the app to confirm they own the number.

Only after all three steps complete does the user's phone number become an authorized SMS recipient on our platform.

Categories of messages

• Chat alerts when teammates @-mention you while you're away.
• Event-related reminders (RSVP deadlines, payment reminders, line drop notices).
• Account-security messages (verification codes, suspicious-activity alerts).
• Other notifications you've explicitly opted into via your account preferences.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any SMS we send and your number will be removed from our SMS list immediately. Carrier-level opt-out is automatic — no further messages will be delivered to that number from our short code.

You can also disable SMS notifications at any time from your account preferences. Changing or removing your phone number on your profile resets your verification status — to receive SMS again, you'll need to re-verify.

Privacy & data handling

We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. SMS delivery is performed via Twilio, our communications provider. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle personal information.
