#18. I got an email and push notification that a credit card payment came in — do I need to do anything?
Finance Role
Audience: Team admins, members with the FINANCE role.
Short answer: No action required. The notification just lets
you know a Stripe card payment has cleared and the player's balance
has been updated automatically. The Payments page already reflects
it.
What the notification means
- A player (or parent) paid their team balance by credit / debit
card via Stripe. - The payment cleared, so the player's bill is marked paid and the
team's net is on its way to your bank account. - The Payments page shows the row labeled Credit Card (used to
show as Other — fixed 2026-04-28).
Why we send it
Before this notification existed, the only way to spot a card
payment was to refresh the Payments page. Now you find out
immediately — useful for confirming "hey, did the entry fee go
through?" before a tournament starts.
Who gets it
- The team owner, and
- Anyone on the team with the FINANCE role.
Both an email and a push notification to the mobile app.
Notes / gotchas
- Existing card payments were relabeled. If you check the
Payments page now, prior card-payment rows that used to say
Other will already show as Credit Card. The change is
cosmetic — no money moved. - The notification is for Stripe card payments only. Venmo /
CashApp / Zelle / cash payments still flow through the
pay-then-manager-verifies path and don't trigger this email.
